Manta Bay vs Manta Point: What’s the Difference?
Planning to snorkel with manta rays in Nusa Penida? You’ll likely come across two popular spots: Manta Bay and Manta Point. While both offer the chance to see these majestic creatures, they each provide a different experience. Here’s what you need to know before choosing:
Manta Bay
- Located close to Angel’s Billabong
- Shallow bay, easier access
- 50% chance of seeing manta rays
- Great for beginners or those looking for a shorter trip
Manta Point
- Deeper waters, open ocean setting
- Located farther from the harbor
- Higher chance of spotting mantas (more consistent sightings)
- Recommended for stronger swimmers or those wanting the best manta experience
Best Time to Visit:
May to August is the ideal season for manta sightings.
Our Recommendation:
If you’re looking for the best chance to swim with manta rays and don’t mind a longer boat ride, choose Manta Point. If you prefer a shorter trip and still want a chance to see mantas, Manta Bay is a great option.
